Tried this. Neither Dreamm or ScummVM see the Loom or Indy game I install from Steam. I'd need to download the original Windows executables from Steam and give those to these VM's, but all Steam lets me download are the macOS versions.If Steam would let me download the windows versions, that would solve this, but this is the whole point: I didn't want to jump through flaming hoops to do this. Thanks for suggestions everybody but I don't have the spoons for this right now.

I'm listening to a @dosgameclub podcast episode on Indiana Jones, and I remembered I have bought some LucasArts games on Steam... I had Loom, and I had Indiana Jones & TFOA... Yay! But.. Frick! It doesn't play anymore on my new macOS. The 32 bit support was dropped at one point. I wonder if there's any plans of wrapping these in some sort of a virtual machine to make them run on newer Macs? I know I could install a virtual machine but I really can't be bothered. #retrogaming

Several concerns:

A) that's kind of a person register / data scraping, already off to a bad start.

B) Language !== country. British people and american people post typically in english. Which one is it?

C) A single user may post in more than one language. I typically select the language between english or finnish, is that two users? If just one, which one do you count as the primary?

D) some countries have more than one language. How are you going to count the Swiss for example?

How do you feel about bots that mirror Hellsite accounts to fediverse? I'm generally against those, cos like obviously the person could be on fediverse if they wanted, and they're not, so what are we doing? They would seem to be doing what you are describing here? Should there be more pushback against :birdsite: etc mirror bots on fedi?

Folks, I don’t know who told you you’re supposed to dump hashtags in your picture #altText.. No, please stop. Alt text is for describing the image content. A jumbled mess of hashtags is not the same thing.

This shit is like the thing I see sometimes with YouTube subtitles where folks dump extra info in the subs that has nothing to do with what is being said. I need the captions for #accessibility, please don’t abuse them for your own purpouses. Similarily don’t dump hashtags in alt texts.
