Answering unknown number calls on my cell phone like a receptionist really confuses scammers.

"Good afternoon, thanks for calling!"

"Hello."

"Hi, who's calling please?"

"This is Experian Security Services calling to discuss an urgent issue with your account."

"Who are you trying to reach?"

"I am looking to talk to the owner of this phone number."

"I'm sorry, I'll need a name to help you."

30 seconds of silence.

Call hangs up.

In a capitulation to the Department of Defense and EO 14173, Scouting America just agreed to eliminate their "Citizenship in Society" merit badge because it asks the scout to "research the following terms and explain to your counselor how you feel they relate to the Scout Oath and Scout Law: identities, diversity, equality, equity, inclusion, discrimination, ethical leadership, and upstander."

This was done to retain access to DoD resources and military bases.

I believe I got added to some exclusion list the criminals pass around. So I can endorse this strategy on several levels now.
