Anyone playing #Homeworld3 ? You like it?
I crowdfunded it in the heady days of 2019, excited to play.

@RIDDLES ha, there's tons of media about taking down corporates that are made by big companies. Mr Robot comes to mind...
@TuxOnBike @jsit Yes! I spun that up on my old Pixel 3! My phone couldn't run a desktop display, but the seeds of the experience are there.
I have to say I love how my #steamdeck is both a "play games in bed" and "work/talk in the office" machine.
@clockwooork I agree, and I think so does the author, if you read the whole piece. I think they are trying to speak the language of people who are looking for policies to sequester carbon, or have to weigh the economics of hunting or habitat maintenance. Speaking about nature in terms of financial benefit helps people fend off arguments to destroy something because it could bring economic value to do so.
"Protecting whales benefits everybody. Each great whale sequesters, on average, 33 tons of carbon, and they take that with them to the ocean floor... after they die. Their feces fertilize phytoplankton, which are the basis of all marine food webs and the source of oxygen for every other breath we take. Thanks to their ecological and economic services, each great whale is valued at over $2 million... The value of the world’s whale stock easily exceeds $1 trillion." https://atmos.earth/a-descendants-call-for-whale-legal-personhood/
The waters will come? No the waters are here, and they are going to keep coming. gift article: https://wapo.st/44mb6oR
@solarpunkpresents Saying publically what I said on Patreon. I for one enjoyed the conversation! I normally don't associate Web3 with Solarpunk and hearing someone make the case was interesting for me. I wasn't convinced by your guest's perspective, and that's fine.
Please don't apologize for not giving a sincere person a hard time. You are not the solarpunk Inquisition, and the solarpunk police got nothing on you!
Thanks for everything you do.
@raulinbonn @scottjenson I agree. I read the Isaacson bio (really interesting) and I came away with this sentiment.
You can appreciate Job's aesthetic and his ability to "distort reality" and get things done, and still not think he was particularly kind.
I find myself having this experience with a lot books. Sometimes you find yourself appreciating the book even if you are critical of (or even dislike) the author.
@arielkroon what would the stakeholders be opposed to?
@jasoncoon @wizard so cool
Can you see when things got busy at work?

@solarpunkpresents Another option might be a Guppe group... https://a.gup.pe/
@Mastodon Astounding impact for so small a development team. Bravo!
@solarpunkpresents I'm looking forward to the writing discussion tomorrow! Just wanted to share a resource I found. There's a solarpunk community on Matrix with a writing group (not wildly active, but already in place). If we find there's an interest in chatting with each other we might use that as a venue, and connect with other writers.
Sometimes books just get stuck in your head and phrases form your inner monologue.
I say "inner" because I can't in normal conversation say "I count now every hour, indeed every minute. Farewell!"
