I don't want a coffee that "notes hints of cherry and cocoa."
I want a coffee that walks into my brain, flips a table over, and says, "Get up. We have responsibilities."

There are #wildfires about 250 miles west and over some mountains from here. The biggest is over 28,000sqmi with 0% containment. From that far away, here’s what the sun looked like at 7:30 tonight. June 2026

I doubt I’m the first to wonder where along their path to billions did these people become demonstrably, measurably evil. Was it in them all along, in a way that’s in us all, just waiting for the opportunity to leap to the next level. Is it inexorable once it’s started, can it be resisted? Not many escape, it seems—Warren Buffett, I guess, is not as evil as Zuck or Altman. I know I’m not the 1st to ask, is this a disease? Sure looks like it. Sour grapes talking? 🤷🏽 -

Thought I read recently that the experiment has been discredited, but can’t find the article and don’t recall the details. How’s that for a worthless comment? The wiki article does mention some criticisms. -

Makes ya wonder about how we always criticize the non-avian dinosaurs for having had small brains. Maybe theirs were on a par with the avians. Being a large predator, like a t-rex, would require some brain power. -

Ok, first, I’m genuinely curious about this. Honestly, I’m not trolling. I toyed briefly with some version of *nix years ago (maybe 20 or so) but didn’t get it, or it didn’t get me, or something, and I’ve been content to let Apple do all the heavy lifting for me and my computers. That said, can someone explain to me why there are so many versions, or implementations of it? What’s the point of that? Feel free to #ExplainToMeLikeIm5 if you feel the need. (Yes, I know macOS is Linux-based.)
