Government cheese is basically a staple at the food bank here.
Also stuff like govt surplus garlic powder. Every once in a while (thankfully very long whiles) we get to repack about 4 cubic feet of powdered garlic into 1lb* bags for distribution at the food share store. The powder goes everywhere—your clothes, hair, nose, behind your glasses. You smell of garlic for days despite showers and laundry.

* not sure about the weight. Might’ve been less.

Dunno if you’re watching #JonStewart on #theDailyShow tonight, but it’s worth taking a look at the show asap. I figured he’d be a tad riled up over the Colbert thing, but omg. It’ll be interesting to see the reaction tomorrow. Especially, as he mentioned, the same parent company owns his show. Will he have a show tomorrow?
