This is a reminder to people. A number of experts are very blunt that we are headed for a good deal of trouble in July because US oil reserves will be tapped out.

Asia is already suffering greatly from the loss of oil. Europe isn’t in good shape either. China is better situated because of the size of their reserves and they can ride for I think another year.

If you haven’t yet stocked up on a pantry do so to the best of your ability. consider pooling resources with people you know to stock up.

What is very clear now specially after Covid: law, majority of central government deficits go directly into their pockets. It is a money printing operation that’s never taxed.

For a certain subset of billionaires, I don’t know if profit even matters to them. You look at how much money Meta burned in VR I think it was 77 or $80 billion or something like that and it went nowhere and the market didn’t even blink an eye about it. There is too much money and two few hands which allows them to inflate their own assets, which they can then use as leverage to buy everything else up, including politicians.

Data centers are a power, water and land grab. One thing I wonder about is whether the agreements cities sign with data centers could be taken over after AI collapse, guaranteeing that whoever buys up the distressed asset gets the power of the water and the tax breaks as well as a big bucket of land.

In other words, they sweep in for pennies on the dollar to get tax-free property, energy and water. These are the kind of people who would destroy a community in order to grab territory

First off, they believe modern agriculture, which is killing the planet, is the only possible way to feed people and nothing else can be done other than rationing is a totalitarian wet dream.

Instead of reaching for the things I could largely replace modern agriculture. They would consign hundreds of millions of people if not billions of people to death, because they think they think nothing else can happen.

No doubt, many people will face famine because of the sudden cut off of agricultural production they were forced to depend on. And in their gloating arrogance, they expect people to go along and simply die.

For so many reasons, AI is not the next industrial revolution. The math does not math. The more advanced it becomes the more tokens are spent. The subscriptions people are buying right now are heavily subsidize to the tune of between five and 12 times the cost in tokens. The companies are trying to wriggle out from that real reality. Beyond this is the infrastructure reality that distinguishes data centers from previous bubbles like rail or dot com.

This is also known as the egalitarian ethic. The reason why egalitarian societies are egalitarian is because one part of society like girls don’t tolerate shit from boys, especially bully boys, and we’ll gang up and beat the living crap out of them. In human societies, there are multiple grades of this starting with ridicule, moving to ostracism, then exile, and if somebody is super deadly, they get killed. And the community recruits tyrant’s family to do so

A day or two ago I saw somebody post a quote from Angela Davis. It captures the egalitarian ethic. Egalitarian societies understand it’s everybody’s business to put a stop to any form of abuse or tyranny in its tracks at every scale, because you don’t want the tyranny camel nose to get under the community tent. It wrecks life for everyone.

Oh oh right, because economists say after other economic bubbles, the surviving companies could pick up tons of infrastructure or productive capacity for pennies on the dollar then run with that for a decade or two.

I’d like to remind people that the most terrifying thing for big oil and big mining and global corporations is walkable neighborhoods, and local food supply.

Every car taken off the street and everybody food that can come from farm to table over a few miles is the oil and methane that never have to be drilled or burnt.

Oil and gas extraction exists for the global supply chain. It exists to make billionaires and companies, larger and more powerful while stripping us of any agency in our lives.
