    @silverwizard Kinda a screwball way about it, but a Mac studio cluster maybe? 512GB of unified memory means you can run pretty large models after you cluster a few. 😁

    @silverwizard @vantablack I sort of agree with the sentiment of things almost getting too big too fast to work out decentralized moderation, admin costs, etc. I think at least as a positive this Meta situation might push more people to figure out single user or friends-only instances, at least that's the hope. 🙂

    @silverwizard I've wondered if that was possible. Would it be primarily over WiFi or mobile data? I imagine telcos would catch on pretty quick that it's a server and ding you for it.

    @marek @hypolite speaking as a lowly single user node admin, my biggest draw to Friendica from the start was protocol interoperability, along with a (relatively) easy install. I think as long as those things are a focus it will be a compelling option. If we're on a wishlist train, having an improved frontend would be great, but as a non-developer all I can do is project said wishlist and do some evangelizing on the side. ?

    @hypolite I really, really need to set up an off-site backup for my home server. The server I run this on is configured in raidz2, but no excuse for not having snapshots elsewhere, especially when it's very robust, as is the case for zfs. Message received. ? A good winter break project!
