The New York Times seems pretty convinced that TFG will win. Or is it just clickbait?

Julie Goldberg (julie@social.coop)'s status on Thursday, 18-Jan-2024 22:42:14 JST Julie Goldberg We have a significant percentage of white people who still believe that democracy is only for them, that everyone else deserves to live under the violent control of the state.
I always think people need more information and better tools for discerning the truth, but anyone who believes in democracy for themselves and fascism for others will believe/pretend to believe any nonsense that props up their belief. -

Julie Goldberg (julie@social.coop)'s status on Thursday, 28-Sep-2023 11:16:07 JST Julie Goldberg The ruling yesterday doesn’t take Trump’s businesses away from him. It’s not like civil forfeiture. Only in the most extreme case could he be forced to sell them, and it’s not at all clear that would be the outcome, anyway. And he still gets to keep the money if he sells it. I wonder if people were getting a little overexcited yesterday. The $250 million fine will sting, though.
