@tofu@is-a.cat @tofu@is-a.cat Thanks for pointing it out, I grew up with 4chan and when i was in school we would be exposed to plenty of vile offensive humor, for me this is funny for different reasons than someone who is serious about the message in the video.

I think its funny because of how offensive it is, i don't think its funny because of its message.

But yeah not everyone shares that sense of humor, because humor is highly subjective, so a content warning for this is indeed in order

@tofu@is-a.cat I have reflected a bit on this, and will definitely do some further reflection at the end of the day.

I have been a bit of a slave to my impulses, i see something funny and i tend to share it/over share.

My intention is not that of harm but to make peers that share this sense of humor laugh.

I understand it won't fly, but even with a descriptive content warning? I understand the virtue of not spreading content like this, and after some thought i agree with you.

But for me(And this is not justifying the nature of the content shared) i feel like preventing people from sharing or venting this (If even only their own people) feels wrong too, as an injustice to their expression.

But thanks for bringing this up, i definitely need to reevaluate my relationship with content like this to see if it aligns with my virtues and principles, especially now since i am self studying philosophy.

I hope that by sharing my point of view on this i clarify that my intent was not and will never be malice, I have a deep found interest in the interconnectivity of all humans and the philosophies that surround that.

But i only just started with practicing it seriously this month, As a read more and more books on this topic and continue its practices i am certain that my taste in content will change(As evident to my recent longer posts where i share this reflection).

P.S: This does not excuse my actions but i at least want you to understand the motivation behind them, and that its not malice.

Also think most people i know here are pretty awesome you included so would be a shame for me to lose that connection :)

@waifu@mai.waifuism.life @eris@p.enes.lv they definitely can if the emulator is exploitable then a bad actor can use a ROM to execute code via exploit in your emulator that opens the way for a trojan horse which will allow set actor to install any software they want.

So regardless of medium always keep your software up to date to ensure that these vulnerabilities are not present.

But with ROMs you are usually safe because the attack surface is so small and the amount of people that actively use ROMs are not super large as well as the amount of different emulator you can use makes it a illogical target for someone writing malware other than pure malice

The never ending struggle

@prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer All the things that are killing me are just bad coping mechanisms for that fact.Then it is definitely worth exploring different ways to cope, for me one very recent way that has helped be deal with trauma from the past 4/6 years(I think i shared this with you) was reading philosophy, mainly stoic philosophy, It taught me a complete different way to look at situations.And its going to kill me, and I'm going to let it, because the alternative is to stop loving and caring for people, to stop taking up for people, to stop defending the defenseless, to harden my heart and stop empathizing and start disavowing knowledge of the state of the world.
Especially with this, you are are looking at this from a very negative point of view, You don't have to stop caring for people, you do not have to stop defending the defenseless, you don't need to wall yourself off to others, what is making you think all this, these are illogical and ridiculous thoughts, you should be proud of yourself for wanting all that, that makes you an amazing human being, there is no weakness in that only strength and you are hearing that from a trained fighter.

I will finish with this bit of wisdom that i found when reading about Epictitus a great Stoic philosopher and former slave(Born into slavery)
