I don't know what to say. I'm devastated. I adopted River in 2015, expecting a cat, but got a Bombay without knowing what they'd be like. I described River as being a cross between a dog and toddler. She was named after River Tam from Firefly: badass, but not quite right. But she loved me with every minute of her long life, and I loved her. Goodbye, River.

After 16 years, my terminally ill cat has accidentally discovered the bathroom exists, and that it has a toilet in it. Proof that you’re never too old to learn something new!

@skinnylatte There's a taco chain which stretches from Sacramento to Reno called Jimboy's, and their signature taco is deep fried and then the shell is coated in parmesan cheese dust. Perfect drunk college food, and even though I now live 500 miles away in SoCal, I consider a pilgrimage every time I think about it.

It’s Memorial Day, and the city of Victorville, California, which averages about four hours of sub-freezing weather per year, would like to educate you about freezing pipes.

Mastodon needs a "US West Coast mode", where all posts made between midnight and 7AM are hidden and drip-fed to you spread out between 7AM and noon.

I've long said Slack needs something similar. In Mastodon's case, it's to avoid the marathon of obsessive scrolling in the morning to read all the European posts as well as the US East Coast people posting right in the morning. For Slack, it's to combat the horde of US East Coast people going "oh hey, when you get in, could you..."

Hey, remember Just Mayo, that sauce which wasn't mayo and didn't contain eggs but called itself as Just Mayo and the packaging had a large egg on it, and got indignant that people confused it for mayo and contained eggs?

Apparently it's gone now, but I just noticed a side effect: the entire mayonnaise industry transitioned to calling their product "real mayo".
