@Joe_0237 Google docs is the only thing I still have to use from Google. What is a good web based alternative? I have yet to find one that isn't just a simple online notepad. I need a full featured editor and spreadsheet. I need something that non-technical people can collaborate with me by clicking on a link. I'm happy to pay for it.
On Return to Monkey Island we had a lot of Zoom and Slack calls. Other than one team meeting none of them were video calls. Video calls are deceptively exhausting. Try eliminating them and you might be surprised how much better people feel.
I did a quick calculation and I've spent close to 98,000 hours making video games. Making video games! Not curing cancer or establishing world peace, but making video games.
I've notice on screenshot from other Mastodon users there is a "translate" button next to some posts. Is this something our server admin needs to install? This would be very useful. I've gotten to the age where leaning German and Italian would be quite a stretch and cut into my evening TV time.
Question for Mastodon: I have a bunch of CP/M 5.25 floppy disks that I want to "liberate" a bunch of Z80 code I did as a kid (the world needs to see my Space Invaders clone). Any ideas of a simple/easy to get read them? My CP/M machine is long gone. Tracking down old CP/M machines is outside the scope of easy.
Pro-tip: Keep a separate list of tasks that can be done in 5 minutes, then we're your lacking motivation grab one of those and 3 hours later you'll realize you've got a lot done. For me, that task today is: "On screen hint when you get you ass kicked by and enemy at a much higher level".
I switched from DuckDuckGo to Kagi for search. It's paid and the results aren't as deep but the quality so far is much better. Once I go past the free tier I'll reevaluate it, but so far very happy. All the junk sites no long show up.
It's not just kids. I have a huge disdain for people who pull pranks or do comedy at someone else's expense. I know a game dev that mocks and ridicules people for laughs and then victim blames them for not being able to take a joke (his exact words).
