    The cringe part is it's over this and not the eternal shortages, the blob saga, or the fact that the bulk prices are way higher than the low single unit price they advertise.

    Yep, and there's lots of possible issues. Instance blocking or blackholing, terrible cheap VPSes, using Mastodon instead of something lighter such as Pleroma, and of course network issues you don't know about come to mind.

    @grumbulon a lot of it is due to the messaging and sometimes due to questionable ui choices, like copying and pasting in the url instead of entering in where you're following from is harder for normies and the mastodon devs don't get this.

    When you don't want your instance to show up on fba.ryona.agency so you just null route it with zero communication instead ?

    So my home IP is blocked from FSE, because I'm also hosting an experimental instance in my basement (which I did for RetroChallenge 2022). Anything that makes calls to that site doesn't show up at home, because my IP is blackholed and I was never told why even.
