#Skwawkbox | Trustee of US Holocaust museum calls Palestinians ‘not worthy of mercy’ and ‘fundamentally evil’
Your life, in super reality, is merely a TV ad, with some flimsy premise, an integral oppressive obligation to make money, with a lousy joke at the end.
This article makes the case for a single state solution, which is the only solution.
#Counterpunch | The Shame of What We’ve Done
"Beinart places the Hamas violence of October 7, 2023, in context, as consistent with the history of suppressed peoples without peaceful means to contest their status, as is seen in slave revolts and anti-colonial guerilla wars."

“These claims don’t withstand even modest scrutiny. They’re less arguments than talismans. They ward off dangerous emotions like grief and shame.”
@valhalla To be honest, I saw a lot of clever thinking in Colour of Magic, and it's impressive world building. You can see he's thought a lot about how the discworld works, and even though it's silly, it has its own logic.
I imagine the later books being better but TCOM wore me out towards the end and I just don't care how it ends.
I stopped reading Colour of Magic because I just became bored.
I think it's the three story structure thing. it means there isn't so much of a single story arc thing.
I liked how he wrote, but I'm not entirely sure I want to read more. He created an interesting world, and he clearly thought about the physics of that world. But I think it has too much silliness and characters accidentally getting out of danger, rather than characters demonstrating real skill.
Yes, I think I'd like to read about skilful characters in his world.
But I will try a later book, one of the more popular ones and see how that goes.
#Skwawkbox | EI’s Abunimah deported by Switzerland after violent arrest and isolation
"And on this very day Netanyahu freely travels to Poland to make a mockery of the Auschwitz commemoration despite an outstanding ICC arrest warrant."
"I think it’s important for people to know the depths to which their Western so-called 'democracies' have sunk in the abject service of genocidal Zionism."
@aral Maybe ... But I'm not sure Capitalism has to do much growing to become fascism.
More people should be boycotting Amazon.
The thing about media and the passive language they use.
They describe Elno's Nazi salute as 'a Nazi-like' salute, or he 'appears to' make a Nazi salute, or they call it a Roman salute.
And, yes, none of us can read minds so we cannot say for certain it is a Nazi salute - even though it's the exact same salute the Nazis used.
But that passive language provides so much cover. Next we will have fascists marching down the street, taking over, and the news outlets will be saying:
"Protesters dressed in far right costumes are protesting civilisation by staging a mock militant style coup in the style of a fascist takeover."
After that, they'll be saying: "How did we end up in a dictatorship?"
Writer or artist or something. Probably nothing. London, Socialist or something.Generally against the corporate influence in our lives, so do my best to avoid sharing links from corporate sites. #DumpTheGuardian #DeGoogle If you want to know the main theme of this account ... I generally like to critique things. I usually critique art, books, TV, Movies, etc. And quite often I'm interested story structure and logic. I guess that's my USP or something.I post either on the Fediverse or on my #PsychicDrool blog.I love avant-garde stuff, love noisy music. I'm currently into John Coltrane.
