    Or did I oversee something again?

    i used smarty in another opensource software a lot, too. But this was more than 10 years ago.. :-D

    @hypolite Well my dev environment (PhpStorm) moans about errors and marks the double brackets red. I'll check if I can tell PhpStorm, that this project uses double brackets then. :)

    @hypolite Okay so I guess theme inheritance is somewhat broken and should try to go for a fresh installed theme (could be a copy of frio as starter maybe).
    Or establish more events for templates or something..

    Hmm.. Okay, so:

    * Adding my congelado to allowed_themes in config/local.config.php did not change anything
    * Adding the theme to the allowed_themes in the database produces no entry on the admin panel, too, but it switches it on. So the db entry is the value of the admin panel setting. Now I can choose the theme in my user settings.

    If I do so, no difference is noticed on the UI. I added a slightly modified head.tpl to that theme, but I see the old header of the frio theme.

    But when I log out, the page switches to complete white, nothing is displayed.
    I need to revert my theme choice back to frio in my users db record.

    So.. This does not seem to work at all. Not with the theme.php I quoted above at least.
    Did anybody tried to inherit a theme for Friendica recently with success?

    @thingamajig Sorry, this I don't understand.. My Friedica (distributed via yunohost, seems to be a developer branch version) do add "[No Topic]" as topic when I leave the topic empty. So on Pleroma, Mastodon and Hubzilla the DM is displayed as CW'ed with the warning "[No Topic]" ..

    @hypolite I understand. It is not easy as there are so many connection types.
    Best practice would be to handle "specialities" inside the connector addons. I know that AP services don't need the subject and interpret them as CW when found (tested mastodon, pleroma, hubzilla), as DMs are normal posts to mentioned accounts only normally.
    How diaspora or twitter handles them, if they need or use them at all, I can not say of course. But would be cool to not have content put to the post in general, only when really needed (for that: in connector addons).

    But I understand of course, that you core devs really have no time to do all that. Maybe "between the years" (like we Germans say) is time for me to install a dev environment for core source.. :)

    @hypolite Well but if the subject is empty, the UI should replace <empty> with "[no subject]". This is an UI problem, not a transport problem, so putting this into the message instead in handling it on UI while displaying is wrong, isn't it?

    @hypolite @torsten_torsten Ah okay. This was a misunderstanding on my site I guess. This only relates to my profile page when watched as an "unknown user" (meaning not with a fediverse account).
    But they are still distributed to other servers as public posts? So this is only a restriction on my profile page, but the posts may be visible in some context on other servers, right?

    @hypolite @torsten_torsten You mean, there are account settings producing posts marked as public not being public? That would be unexpected IMHO.
    I checked my profile setting and I only find restrictions on handling follower requests but not about restricting public posts of me. What config is it?
