Lots of inaccessible team building exercises at work right now and I’m conflicted because I do want to take part but I’m also the only one who can’t see so I dunno how sad I should be.

Yes, I’m petty enough to stop the video, even if I would have otherwise enjoyed it. It does bother me that much. I can’t even exactly explain why, other than it changes characteristics of people’s voices in a very noticeable way. I’d rather listen to a laptop mic.

This Adobe speech enhancer is still annoying me, and I still click off of videos that use it. I just can’t stand the thing. It is awful.

DRM is one of those things that doesn’t stop anyone from actually distributing your shit illegally while keeping out people who actually bought it. Why yes I hate DRm how can you tell?

So I just got access to the Be My AI service and it’s pretty much how I feared. I’m glad more people are getting access, but you absolutely have to keep its limitations in mind. It took me just one picture, my very first one, to get information that sounds correct, but is not in subtle ways. This is especially true if it is trying to read something to you from a small object, control or keypad, and so on. Please be very mindful of this while you use this. It honestly should have much more of a warning about this than it does. I haven’t seen any. This should be spelled out very clearly before you even get to take your first picture. Pressing the wrong button on a coffee maker is one thing, but taking wrong medication is another. This is very, very important.

So yeah the quality is bad, and once you play with it enough, it seems to be very predictable and very cautious. So uh... just... keep making music manually please. This ain't worth it. In the slightest.

Actually, here's one more. I tried "robots singing". What do you think that sounds like? Is it... anything like this at all?

Don't get me wrong. This is a pretty good imitation. Probably some of the better ones I've heard. Once it chooses a theme it seems to be relatively consistent and stick with it. But just like most AI you have to ask yourself is it really worth it? This thing requires significant resources to run. And so far, none of the prompts I gave it were exactly what I was looking for. Just like how you have a broad idea of what you want, type your image prompt into stable diffusion, it comes out with something you didn't want and suddenly you realize you did know what it is you wanted and make it yourself? It's kinda like that.
