Like a thing only for pre-authorized friends. A system commercial entities would avoid because plain text (or .gmi) cannot do “enough” and mandatory pre—approval makes no sense for commerce.

Sticking pre-approval on top of existing e-mail is not the way. It has to be fully separate.

@cadusilva I wonder what’s the deal with .art domains ? Are artists supposed to be all rich ? Well some definitely are but this is so arbitrary.

Now I wonder if they’ll try to do the same with my Lema.org domain once it expires in 6 years. I know it cost a fortune to buy (4 letters) but renewal shouldn’t be different from other domains.

Since my ex google domains were moved to exacthosting the domain prices went up absurdly. My lema.org domain was paid in advance for a decade so I can wait six years before I have to pay. But anin.art now cost 128 USD to renew :-/ I can't risk losing it so I paid but how can it be so expensive ? I paid 27 USD to renew it a week ago and now I see it was refunded and I have to pay 128 USD to actually renew it. WTH.

I see it as part of the colonized mindset. We eat wheat bread because Europeans did but that’s not what the ground produces here.

Já tem um tempo que fico desconfortável com essa dependência a LetsEncrypt sendo gratuito como serviços de Google já foram . Antes mesmo da situação atual já achava muita concentração de poder, por ser só uma entidade controlando certificados.

Quase só tenho .com e .org então não ia eliminar totalmente a ameaça.

@cadusilva @isadora Price is a factor (though I could fix it dropping some useless domains) but my main my worry now is to find something that will last "forever".

I used to think one of these large americans company would be a safe bet. Dreamhost is on the 19$ per domain which is quite an increase from a time it was around 9$.

@isadora I already have stuff on ovh (notably machines and a few domains). Most others domains are on dreamhost for historical reasons.

These days I am not sure which place is safe anymore to keep my domains for the long run. Might go to infomaniak.ch for the domains as this is a safe country I know well (but don't live in anymore). I only have my swiss domains there.

Turns out I paid my lema.org for 10 years when that was an option so I think I have to wait 6 more years anyway

@gmgall @odd Quando sento ao lado de *uma* pessoa eu nunca me pergunto “será que vale a pena falar todo isso só para essa pessoa ?”.

A internet tem uma coisa de Star System doentia. Se *uma* pessoa desconhecida na Transnitria leu uma pagina sua 4 anos após postar já valeu a pena escrever.

Muitas vezes você não vai ter retorno direto (*) e nem saber mas tudo bem. Mas na escala da humanidade milhões de pessoas desistir por esse motivo é bem triste.

@gmgall @odd É sobre obter retorno gostei dessas sugestão do @augustocc sobre usar o fediverso para comentários (ainda não fiz no meu mas pretendo).

@Ze_Andarilho É triste não conseguir desapegar. Me faz pensar em algumas pessoas que sabem que vão herdar e ai desistem de tentar qualquer coisa pois ao final a vida econômica vai se resolver (só que em geral a pessoa já tá velha).
