    You remember the photo of the Heraclitus book you posted a while back? The Kirk translation? Found a hardcover copy for myself. Thank you for pointing to this.

    I read a while in this online edition https://www.hrstud.unizg.hr/_download/repository/Kirk,_Heraclitus._The_Cosmic_Fragments.pdf and found it exactly as complex as I wished it would be. No clear-cut "take aways" possible with that translation and comment :-)

    Why should I think differently of the Russian military? Ever read about the "dedovshchina" ("grandfathering") of recruits in the Russian Army, the ubiquity of torture and and other brutish treatment of recruits by their seniors to "break them in"? No? I suggest you do.

    Of course. But I didn't want to overly press the point. And if I named the relationship of the Victorian Era to nudity and bring it into a comparison with some admin's behaviour, I'd be asked again to delete the post. Not worth the fuss. Just plain stupid.

    I took Michelangelo's "David" as an example because in your reply to your admin's admonition you pointed to the classical depictions of Artemis. It was to these classical art figures to which she replied "Nope". And *that* is the problem. Because if every nudity is treated as pornography, you're not protecting "vulnerable minorities" but use the alleged need of protection for establishung your own agenda. Then you're back in the rightwing 1950s, be it conservative or merely Protestant.

    Evidence points clearly to the Russian military. Goddman.

    My first thought, that the breach of the damn may have been the result of damage to its structure due to Ukrainian and Russian bombardment in 2022 and the omission of Russian forces to open the sluice gates in early spring to decrease water pressure, looks being ruled out. Anyway, did I really expect the Russian military (or 95% of it in order not to insult collectively) to behave differently?

    So this admin would also ban you (if you hadn't heeded the 3-strikes warning) if you posted a picture of Michelangelo's "David".

    Which reminds me of the school principal Hope Carrasquilla who in April was forced to resign from her position at Tallahassee Classical School in Florida due to complaints by parents because she'd shown pictures of the nude "David" in an art class.

    Appalling to see how "safe space" admins are in bed with rightwing US-Evangelicals, incapable or unwilling to distinguish between nudity and pornography. They shouldn't check their privileges but their prejudices.

    Via email the admin of gnusocial.net told me to delete the reply I made to @Kitsunelol in the thread of yours on Artemis and told me to no longer insult other people. I complied but don't see a point to stay here when even an expression of frustration about cultural ignorance is deemed a violation of safe-spacerism.

    People, I am going to leave gnusocial.net. This instance is no longer my place. I keep this handle here at least until I have finished a backup of all my posts. (Hopefully, the admin of this instance lets me finish the backup. It may take a week or two.) A new address is not on my mind yet.
