electronic parts, soldering tips, test equipment for rent, lab glassware, chemicals, test strips, PPE, 3D printing filament, you name it

sure you can just buy all of that off amazon, or you can cobble most of it together from hardware stores, pharmacies, the kitchen supply section of your local hypermarket; but having all that in a convenient place, with competent staff to nerd out with, would be so much nicer…
