It's widely believed that the 2014 Thief reboot is considered to be a 'bad' game, or at the very least, not accepted by fans of the series.

Why is this?

Is it simply because of the streamlining? If so, I get it, but it was still a very well-made stealth game. Why would that make it 'bad' by any means?

Don't get me wrong, I will always view Thief: The Dark Project as the best of the series, but I genuinely did enjoy the 2014 reboot.

In your opinion, what is the most underappreciated Star Wars game?

For me, I'd have to say either Galactic Battlegrounds or Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike.

Galactic Battlegrounds may have been an Age of Empires clone, but it was massive amounts of fun regardless.

And as for Rogue Squadron 3, everyone points to the first two games but most either hate or ignore the third one. I found it to be very ambitious and it had great mission design!

Sick news! If you haven't played around with ReactOS, definitely look into it. At the very least, it's a fun throwback to the Windows 9x era, but it has also come a very long way over the years!

@captainarcee It's pretty solid! My library there is really small compared to GOG (as I generally prefer GOG due to its overall experience) but it's still worth looking, especially if a retro game isn't already on GOG.

It's often overshadowed by GOG because of its easily-confused name (and GOG is just much bigger) but ZOOM Platform is a solid, DRM-free games distributor that has quite a few old school titles, some of which GOG doesn't have.

Worth a look if you can't find a specific retro title on GOG!

Hey y'all, I'm going to utter retro gaming blasphemy!

I genuinely think that the reason Sonic 3 receives so much love and praise is due to nostalgia and not much else.

Seriously, this is one Sonic game I DIDN'T play as a kid. Playing it now as an adult, it just isn't fun to me like 1 & 2 are. The levels are frustrating, enemy placement is infuriating, the special stages are total crap...

The only thing it has going for it is the sheer scale of the game.

Not to mention some really crappy level gimmicks, a general lack of direction within zones and the BUGS... am I crazy or does this game have way more bugs than 1 and 2? :terry_nono:
