So, I have a little brother who is 8 years old and he loves those game creation kit type software. As of late, he has complained that he can only build a small amount of games before he has to delete one to make room for another or he has to pay extra to finalize/publish the games to its proprietary marketplace.

Does anyone know of any game creation kits that are open source, easy to comprehend, and require little to no programming? Thinking of turning an old laptop into a linux machine for him

@captainarcee Has he used GameMaker Studio? I used to use GameMaker (pre-Studio) for learning game logic, it seemed like a pretty decent one to use as a beginner.

@captainarcee It has some coding in it but it's designed to be pretty easy to design games with minimal coding. Back in the day, it was literally a drag-and-drop design where you only needed to get into the code itself if you're making a more advanced game. Not sure if it still works that way or not, though!

@JakobFel Gamemsker studio might be something that he and I would have to learn together, but I don't mind that at all. Thank you for the suggestion, and I'll add it to the list
