Anyone know of an adblock that actually works? AdGuard, Ublock Origin Lite, and Vivaldi's built-in ad blocking altogether no longer works to block youtube ads. Aside from just not wanting to see ads, blocking ads prevents impulse buying.

@captainarcee uBlock is usually considered to be the King of Adblockers, though I've used it little. You might just need to ramp up the settings.
Most likely though, this is just another update where YouTube broke through the adblockers, and in a few days, the adblockers will update to block them again.
Or, if you really like customising settings: You can get NoScript, and allow/block what can run on the page. That would probably kill them the quickest.

@captainarcee If you're down for using Chromium browsers, you can't beat Brave. I think there was only a single incident where their ad block missed something. Plus, it's downright incredible for your privacy.
That said, I also recommend trying some privacy clients for YT as well, as they block ads for you. Freetube on PC and either Newpipe or Grayjay on Android (if you have Android). Freetube also has an Android port but its UI is definitely more desktop-friendly.

@JakobFel I used to use Brave but switched to Vivaldi because I needed to test it in order to be able to reccomand it to my friends who used Opera GX. If you didn't know, Vivaldi is developed by the same folks who developed Opera and Opera GX before either was sold off to a Chinese spyware company, and Vivaldi works and looks very similar to Opera GX and I wanted my friends to switch over

@captainarcee Oh yeah, I use Vivaldi for some stuff too, I just find Brave suits my needs better overall (as I'm a privacy nerd lol)

@JakobFel oddly enough I still use Brave on mobile cause vivaldi still is a little wonky on mobile, but I have both installed nonetheless

@captainarcee While the landscape can shift from time to time, uBlock Origin (not lite) has worked for me so far and I've also had success with AdGuard AdBlocker on Chromium. I currently use Cromium to watch Youtube so AdGuard AdBlocker is the one I've used.
I also use NoScript but I don't think that can be used to block adds. I mean, you can but the adds would have to come from a source that can be disabled without breaking the page completely.
