@dansup@mastodon.social @trwnh@mastodon.social That's the beauty of Open-Source! Nothing stopped them from forking it, and nothing should. They are no longer federating and if they where I'd suggest to de-federate, there is terms in forking things like Mastodon, but these are things like keeping the software up-to date (what I believe both haven't), but it's never about if someone can or can't fork something otherwise we are no better than the Centralized Social Media Slop we've moved away from, Control is not the answer.

As a part of my book about the Fediverse it might be good to write 'a brief history of the Internet' as one of the chapters explaining how Social Media and internet as a whole changed over time, along with how things like that little event in 2001 change the internet for better or worse.

What do you think of this idea? Should it be apart of the Fediverse book or should I stay away from it? Let me know your thoughts?

Just finished PewDiePie's latest Video: "I'm DONE with Google"

Going into it I was hoping that he discovered the Decentralized Web with things like Mastodon or even PeerTube but overall amazing video showing off DeGoogling, I do wonder if he will eventually discover PeerTube and things, along with if he does if he'd even actually host his own instance for his videos but I dealt it due to there's not really money in moving across to the Fediverse for creators like that.

I still highly suggest the video either way.

I'm obviously unsure what happened to come up to the block so can't say what happened for sure.

Are there any actually good books about the Fediverse people would suggest to read? I know I've seen one or two little books out there on the market but I'd love to know if there's some sort of Fediverse Guide or something on the market that you know of.

We can advise if things get to heated and maybe a mute if it becomes to much but we much prefer people to speak there mind.

Hopefully there will be better systems for this in the future as I love interacting with people on Lemmy as well as the look but I see no need for another account in my life just to post once in a while.
