Hey @pfefferle 👋. Does the WP activity pub plugin allow for DMing people or is that something on the roadmap.

I'm considering coming back to WP from classicpress for the activity pub functionality.

Is there any "ai" things being included with wordpress core now (or in future).

I want to maybe switch back from classicpress simply because the #activitypub plugin is incredible.

But I want zero ai in my website.

@pfefferle do you know if the webfinger plugin is required for activitypub things?

Or is it an indieweb requirement?

@david its annoying that when i repost a fediverse post on my wordpress site, it shows as a new post in fediverse (as opposed to boosting the original post) would that even be possible to achieve @pfefferle ?

@pfefferle awesome! Is there a branch that is public to look at at all please?

Would love to see the planned functionality and interactions that will be possible.

I.e. if likes / boosts / replies can show up on front end of site as posts with the reply context attached. Like the indieweb way of doing things.

Hi @pfefferle . I was just wondering when the wordpress admin area will be able to get a fully fledged reading experience for people I follow on fediverse?

I love the integration into the current reader, but a built in feed would be game changing.

I was looking at moving to classic press from wordpress, and wondered if you had any idea of whether the activitypub plugin would work over there?

As i understand it only shares wp versions up to 4.9.

Im happy to port it over but wondered if you'd know of any places to watch out for (i.e. more modern wp features that activitypub uses?)

@da_667 @aral didn't you have one sticker similar to this? I'm sure I remember you sending me somet like a unicorn vomitting a rainbow.

@pfefferle it's the reply link on a mastodon post permalink page that takes me to my 404.

I listened to the podcast ep. Very interesting thanks.

I've cloned and setup local dev for both activitypub and friends plugin.

I'd like to start contributing as there as some slight issues I found in friends. And also have some feature ideas 🙂

@pfefferle ah excellent. so I wonder if I just add a regex redirect in to fix.

Also I was just wondering how much of an integration with the friends plugin the activitypub plugin will have. Or would future ap features render the friends plugin uneeded in future?

Hey #wordpress people. I'm sure I used to be able to click a mastodon reply link in mastodon and it would take me to a new post with the reply context already filled in ready for me to reply.

But the page it links to just 404s now e.g.: https://davidpeach.me/authorize_interaction?uri=https%3A%2F%2Fphpc.social%2Fusers%2Fpeach%2Fstatuses%2F114947342897626816

Did I dream this worked? 😅

/ @pfefferle are you aware of such functionality on your travels?

@aral I'm unhappy with my current wordpress site and have an itch to build something new for myself, and maybe others.

@pfefferle any idea why the activitypub plugin for WP would stop working after 4.7 update please?

@pfefferle rolled back to 4.6 and works again. So something fishy in 4.7.
