If you want to read a cool story about a boy who becomes a magician, I'd recommend the Riftwar books beginning with Magician: Apprentice by Raymond E. Feist.

Every server's rules are different. Anyone can start up a server, and decide what rules violate their policies.

Most new servers will check the rules on mastodon.social or another flagship server and use those.

That's what my server started with. I added "Don't Be a Dick" as rule #1.

Others will make different rules that might not work for you.

This is why I've often said that you need to be on a server with mods and admins you trust, or relocate.
