I aspire to have the quality control that Linus Torvalds has. I'd never have bothered comparing some commit hashes to notice that history was silently rewritten, damn. (And yes, I know this was a b4 bug in the end, still crazy that he noticed it)
oh and I've also been noticing that apparently Xiaomi ships up to 2^3 different configurations of the same device (2 panels, 2 chargers, 2 touchscreens) AAAAAAAAAAAAA
sooo our sm7150-mainline kernel (and therefore also U-Boot) currently supports: - Xiaomi Mi 9T / Redmi K20 - Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC - Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro - Xiaomi Mi Note 10 - Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite - Google Pixel 4a
and will soon also support: - Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G - Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G - Samsung Galaxy A71 - Samsung Galaxy A80
not gonna lie, seeing people take this and adapt it to their own devices makes me so happy :3
@linmob they don't make 'em like they used to... popup cameras were amazing (and prone to mechanical failure, but I liked them - davinci looks soooo good)
@cas@strm@fossdd@z3ntu@newbyte@lanodan@pabloyoyoista If people want to get their hands dirty with building a downstream kernel, nothing is stopping them from doing so. They can compile it and build an Android boot image if they want. But I fail to see why postmarketOS should be a playground for people to compile their Android kernels, package them upstream and never come back (because that's what most devices w/downstream in testing are: unmaintained)
I finally managed to get panel working on the Xiaomi 12. I would like to curse at Qualcomm for the mistake I had in my panel driver for the last year, because it was not obvious at all. Anyways, time to get SM8450 working in all its glory from here! So much is already done :D
