@BeAware If people started building ATProto apps like crazy, and they took off in popularity until they outnumbered ActivityPub implementations — would ATProto suddenly be “the fediverse”? And what would ActivityPub be, then?

I don’t think Apple would hesitate to call Musk’s bluff on this. As popular as it still may be, Twitter (and Musk) are brand poison.

Apple has very visibly stopped promoting Twitter in the App Store; their “Essential Social Apps” story contains two Mastodon apps and zero Twitter apps.

Twitter needs Apple way, way more than Apple needs Twitter.

@evan I feel like opinions are mixed on this one, but I naively planted some vinca last year and it went crazy. One of my other plants near it isn’t doing so well this spring, and I worried the vinca was choking it, so I’ve ripped it all up and am trying to establish wintergreen in its place. But I’ve read it’s nearly impossible to fully get rid of.

@TuxOnBike @derek Oh haha wow, I knew it ran Linux, but I was never a KDE user. It really is trying to look just like Windows isn’t it. Thought this might have been some kind of dual-boot or VM situation.

@mmasnick I have found that there is a common myth (not necessarily believed by anybody in this thread) that Bluesky literally does zero moderation, with all moderation being left up to users running labeling services.
