It is hilarious how broad a swathe of products can seemingly only be had from Bezos, the Overstock conspiracy nut who now owns Bed Bath & Beyond the Great Beyond, or the Waltons. If you try for the sake of thought experiment to try and live like shopping is a vote -- it certainly has been turned into one with the way our billionaires intervene in our politics! -- you're left with some sufficiently-difficult-to-be-meaningless choices.
Joining the #Bezos-is-a-coward chorus here and pausing my #prime account and joining Target Circle. I don't think I need to be quite such a regular customer of a billionaire who has decided to be the Neville Chamberlain of the American oligarchy.
Of alternative commercial media that doesn't go as far out of its way to offend the last vestiges of editorial independence as the #BezosPost or #TooSoonTimes the Conde Nast suit of publications are a really good deal (I felt obligated to finally subscribe to WIRED because they do essential science journalism and aren't penny stock silicon valley simps like most American tech mags), because for the first time I get to explore THE WORLD OF INTERIORS instead of my merely interior world.
Geeze why don't people trust the media anymore? Maybe the obvious lies forever ushering forth from its owners, much like Bezo's hilarious joke here that he's never interfered in the editorial process in his own interests immediately after having interfered with the editorial process in his own interests, have imperiled their credibility.
MAGAhats nodding to one another about how Bezo's cowering over a potential retaliatory blacklisting from government contracts demonstrates how Trump's macho vitality must be injected straight into America's veins like ivermectin-infused bleach:
"officials from Bezos’ Blue Origin aerospace company met with Trump a few hours after the decision [to prohibit the Washington Post's editors from expressing their mere opinion] became public"
Now the Washington Post is recycling ancient climate denial propaganda from 1998. When the cited skeptic recycled his own bullshit in 2014 it got him fired from #FiveThirtyEight, but I doubt the #WaPo has the editorial independence left to can columnists for gross incompetence.
It's incredible that this is the first time I've seen any story in the press acknowledge that the Democratic Party organs that run its primaries can unilaterally impose whatever campaign finance regulations they care to during the selection process for general election candidates.
Up and down the ballot they've been swearing empty promises to overturn Citizens United (somehow! rarely explained!) since the ruling came down in 2010. Wilding vs. DNC was seven years ago.
Since the Wilding vs. DNC ruling eight years ago I have been waiting for Bernie Sanders to point out the obvious: if the Democratic Party is a private organization that can restrict "speech" in its primaries however it likes then it can unilaterally satisfy its own platform plank and unilaterally overturn Citizens United during them.
The constant barrage of fundraising spam about overturning Citizens United recycled from big donor money is really embarrassing.
Biden tells Stephanopoulos "who’s going to be able to hold NATO together like me? ... a good way to judge me, is you’re going to have now the NATO conference here in the United States next week. Come listen. See what they say."
And the press obliges him by going to NATO leaders to farm anonymous quotes about how he's falling apart.
Not doing himself any favors. I hope somebody somewhere is thinking about how to stage manage Kamala's ascension.
Why does anybody take the right's allegations about paid activists seriously when anyone on the right who is not a billionaire is on a billionaire's payroll? The Brents being obvious cases in point, along with at least half of the Supreme Court.
The outside agitators at Columbia were a chat group of 100 right wing billionaires, executives, and Israeli officials organizing police riots through the board of trustees and mayor's office.
Israeli whistleblowers from the Sde Teiman concentration camp told CNN how Israeli doctors "amputated prisoners’ limbs due to injuries sustained from constant handcuffing; of medical procedures sometimes performed by underqualified medics earning it a reputation for being “a paradise for interns”; and where the air is filled with the smell of neglected wounds left to rot."
The Domestic Security Alliance Council didn't need to coordinate the police riots -- like the Obama administration shut down Occupy Wall Street -- when these were coordinated between college administrations and Congress live on CSPAN:
"escalating to a military response [to student protests] nearly immediately, at barely a provocation or no provocation?—in the 1960s... would have been inconceivable"
If you turn green hydrogen into ammonia fertilizer on site like I suggested you've solved the transportation vulnerability of hydrogen.
I'm not sure any of this is particularly responsive, but in the same spirit I did want to joke that if I didn't want to read error riddled rehashes of Population Bomb I can just turn to any of our national dailies to enjoy the equal and opposite panic over declining birth rates.

Now that he can realize them, he must either change them or perish."Profile picture alt text: Nelson Mandela Muntz Sr anchoring the news and armpit farting at camera one, then turning to camera two with another breaking armpit fart.
