    @lispi314 @sun the reason i'm so defensive of C++ is because if you go back to the 90s, C++ is just like... fine. just plain Java-like OOP with inheritance and C semantics.

    go back in time for javascript and it's always been unusable.

    @dushman @meso @ten the main reason i'm looking at sourcehut is because it's *basically* a bare-bones git server, but it also comes with a web frontend, mailing list services, and most importantly, a lot of based people associated with it.

    my rationalization for staying on github for so long despite hating it was "if i don't use the popular platform nobody will use or contribute to my stuff", but the truth is that nobody was using or contributing to my stuff anyways. i think that going where the people who actually agree with me on bloatfree software design and free software have a much higher chance of actually engaging with me than anyone i could find on github.

    plus sourcehut comes with a built-in way to interact with its devs and has super active mailing lists that i could participate in. there's a potential for me to actually become a contributor to something i care about while knowing that my contributions actually directly benefit me.

    more web software should be made like sourcehut
