In 2023, the EU:
💼 implemented 182 measures to protect employees from unfair practices ⚖️ launched 20 trade defence cases, addressing key trade issues in crucial markets like Morocco and India; 🛡️ supported #SMEs, directly protecting over 100,000 jobs in the ceramics sector.
The EU has activated its Civil Protection Mechanism to provide emergency support. 8 planes from 4 EU countries 🇪🇸🇫🇷🇮🇹🇬🇷 were mobilised to support firefighters in the north of the country.
We will also help rebuild. The EU Solidarity Fund may cover parts of the damage. And we will activate further flexibility to mobilise up to €500 million under Portugal’s Cohesion Policy programmes.
