🐋 What does the EU have to do with whales?

The EU takes seriously our role in protecting the oceans.

Yet only 1% of the ocean is protected from threats like pollution and overexploitation.

That’s why the EU helped bring together the global community for the 🇺🇳 Treaty of the High Seas to protect biodiversity in an area comprising 95% of the ocean.

As climate change accelerates, nature is our best ally in keeping the impacts in check.

And indeed, a source of awe.
