@YakyuNightOwl I had former NYC congressman and mayoral candidate Herman Badillo for a professor in college. He told us all kinds of stories about that campaign. How Mark Green's people would drive through white neighborhoods blasting mariachi music and yelling "Vote for Freddy Ferrer!" in offensive accents. After Ferrer lost the runoff, his campaign refused to do anything to help Mark Green in the general.

I'm going to be proactive and start making my little Lego soccer guys for teams that I KNOW are followers of mine.

Red Bulls play late out on the West Coast, and lord knows I can't stay up that late if I tried.

@mrdiamondj I wish I shared your optimism.

I think it is far more likely that we will see closed leagues in Europe—the Super League—before we see promotion and relegation in MLS. If anyone does it first, it'll be NWSL.

Big soccer clubs all over the world are envious of how much money the NFL makes, despite only being popular in a handful of countries. They want to be like the NFL. Only way to do that is a closed shop.
