Domen, creator of devenv, recently added telemetry to his devenv thing, as part of adding AI to the product, and when nixpkgs contributors removed the telemetry, he reverted the change, with a self merge, without a fucking review even.

This is a clear conflict of interest. We need to stop this from happening in the NixOS organization, corpos need to have some respect for users.

As someone deeply into appliances, I hate how an entire generation of innovations is just gonna be adding pointless AI features

You know what is innovation? A cordless vacuum, a tiny oven on your counter, safety features etc… You know what is just waste of engineering hours? A fucking dishwasher that uses AI to dirty your dishes “intelligently”. I’m very open for actual innovative stuff but some of it feels absurdly tacked on and what a waste of global time and like capacity of production and labor to introduce these half baked things!

There was a time when shitty products died before being sold to consumers, investors please, stop this madness.

I setup vpn shortcuts, which is kinda useful, because you can just M-; M-v m to conncet to mullvad, and M-; M-v S-m to disconnect, and I also did this for other vpn connections like work
