That admission tracked my anecdotal experience at Kroger over the past few years. My local Kroger has an Aldi right next door, and I do 90% of my shopping at Aldi. It probably saves me 20-30%, so long as I bring the quarter for the cart and bag my own groceries.

Peter Robison (peterrobison@nashtodon.com)'s status on Tuesday, 06-Aug-2024 14:40:17 JST Peter Robison I have always hated Tennessee's politically motivated camping law, which makes camping on state land outside of an unauthorized camping area a felony. And based on my backpacking experiences, I would be a felon many times over by now. It's a bad law, and I'm kind of glad to see this gentleman challenge it.

I've enjoyed some of the over-the-air stations I get locally, like Comet, which has a lot of old sci-fi stuff. Oh, and the Maximum Effort streaming channel (Pluto, Plex, others) was doing a bunch of Godzilla and related films, and that was a delightful rabbit hole for a while. 😄 -

Oh, man, SNES/N64 rentals were great, I miss those. I have seen Tubi advertised heavily, but I'm not happy with its parent company (Murdoch's FOX Corp.) so I've declined to use it. There are a lot of similar services (Filmrise, PlutoTV, etc.) that scratch the same itch, anyway. -

My town didn't have a Blockbuster for a long time, but it had a funky video rental place by the university with weird and eclectic and avant-garde video choices made by the student employees who worked there. We saw some really odd stuff sometimes, but it was usually interesting, and sometimes even good. -
