It’s going to be strange when Threads has full on integration with the Fediverse

I might have to write a few articles to explain what the Fediverse is a bit more and even include why it’s a good thing for people to be able to have the ability to create there own instance

I’ve heard that Threads wants to add integration for following Fediverse users before the end of the year.

If this is true then I really can’t wait to see us Fediverse users on Threads and more Threads users interacting with us.

The downside of it if it is true would be most likely META is going to implement it in some stage way that doesn’t make sense. Making us look like second class users compared to their Threads users.

Guess only time will tell.

Knowing I can run multiple versions of the same website but be logged in with different accounts is such a game changer, loved it in Firefox and Zen just does it that little better.

I really need to work out the limits of RSS.

It seems that RSS can be used to make an easy blog system with things like Mastodon users :3

@BeAware We are for our local area and don't mind a profile just being there to allow people to easily find users but yeah I can see where clearing them could be helpful.

We now connect with 100k profiles across the Fediverse, Glad to be here and hopefully we keep connecting to more in the future :3

@BeAware I get that, there reasoning by them is due to how there corporation has to go through a board of directors for approval, there's probably something to do with how they are using Instagram's back-end to create Threads as well. Hopefully we get all of that soon as I really would love to fully interact with my friends and family that wouldn't want to move to Mastodon but would try Threads.

So a lot of people where FediBlocking Threads. To those who haven't blocked it, what has your experience been so far with the slow integration of Threads into the Fediverse.

Wouldn't it be cool if studios like Mojang created there own Mastodon Instance to put posts out in the future.

It would be such a cool way to verify it's from an official employee's account.

@BeAware Fedi is more of a social network, made for talking instead of using algorithms to feed you content like places like Facebook.

Yes, the Private Mentions need to be worked on a lot more than would love some sort of ETEE to make it more secure.

So I wanted to see if Email could be a good way of me talking to people privately and I can certainly say it is god awful. You barely know what you talked about before and even with the history at the bottom of the email it just get's unreadable after a while.

I really don't know what else to do to help replace Social Media for myself, as only really want to be using Fedi and maybe Email.

So I want to make the Mastodon experience with Lemmy a bit easy experience.

As of the moment they are just marked as groups but I feel it needs another indicator that it is a forum based account instead of just 'group'... Will try and see if there's something I can auto-do in Mastodon itself.
