Doing my civic duty today with a couple thousand other Arizonans.
The crowd is fired up, but restrained. Plenty of cops on site and at intersections, but they’re just watching and seem bored. I spoke with one and had that confirmed.
There are two drones in the air, one hovering over the House, the other over the Senate. They pan back and forth.
No counter protestors yet. But the day is young.
Courage and persistence. ✊
To my Canadian friends,
I’m sorry we USians didn’t do enough to stop this, even though we knew it was going to happen. We suck.
Bring the anti-American chants, vitriolic statements, burning flags, and plenty of shit-talking our way. We deserve it.
Signed,
Evo, one of We The People
@Fragglemuppet Ivory.
Dunno about “separate,” but I do have a few different timelines—my “Home” feed, one for a select set of accounts in and around my locale, and some for specific industry things.
I know some shit has gone down if I have over 400 unread items in my timeline at lunch.
Exercising some self-care and checking my smaller local contingent to see what they are sharing.
I have decided that nothing Tommy Tuberville does or says is with my attention.
Filter added.
More coming.
@EricFielding I’m not on Threads so I can’t speak to that. (And probably won’t because I don’t care about or have accounts on any Meta platform).
I do find it a little ironic that you, however, list a Xitter account in your Mastodon bio. 🧐
Free speech on Xitter is whatever Apartheid Clyde is feeling at the moment.

And so it begins:
“A three-judge panel of the Cincinnati-based 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the FCC lacked authority to reinstate the rules…”
We’re fucked.
Hey this sounds bad:
“The fact that the CEO of a car company or someone working on his behalf can—and did—remotely unlock a specific vehicle… is a stark reminder that while you may be able to drive your car, you increasingly do not own it, that the company that manufactured it can inject themselves into the experience whenever it wants, and that information from your private vehicle can be provided to law enforcement.”

@seth Ho Ho Holy cattle, we made it?
My last boost notwithstanding, here’s the kick-ass #bike we got our granddaughter for #Xmas.
@FlashMobOfOne And, also; Oklahoma, ya know?
I did not expect to read this sentence from a major USian news outlet in 2024, but I shouldn’t have been surprised, I suppose.
“The snake was taken from the scene and euthanized, Gibbs said, and the uranium was inspected. The uranium did not result in charges because Jennings was in possession of a legal amount.”
Good news from my urologist: no stones!
So I can keep my left kidney. But that fucker is still on notice.
Reading more about the French Revolution for no particular reason today.

Conservatives have a rich history of not caring about We, The People.
“Louis XVI was willing to consider reforms, but often backed down when faced with opposition from conservative elements within the nobility.”

If you, USian, are not rich or lead your own cult (church), never forget you are among the peasants listed below:
“As the nobility and Church benefited from many exemptions, 👉 the tax burden fell mainly on peasants.👈 Reform was difficult because new tax laws had to be registered with regional judicial bodies or parlements that were able to block them.”

It’s exceedingly rare for me to share any post about the LA Times, but I’ll make an exception in this case.
