I have doused my phone with a drink yesterday and it stopped charging for a while, made me think of hosting my own 2fa service which works outside of android and a phone, which is to be found at 2fauth.de soon. Also ntfy server soon at pntfy.de aswell. Why can't I just use subdomains again? 😂
When comparing a 7950x3d from #hetzner with a 7950x from #livingbots prices aren't that different anymore. Back in the days it was like 50% less to host in Falkenstein compared to Frankfurt. Right now it's more like 20€ difference.
The #h2o#webserver is way too unpopular for it's performance. Low memory footprint, cpu usage and high on security and performance, isolating certificate tls stuff in a different process and implementing quic very well.
@mitsunee oh no what instance did shut down :crychkat3r: ? Also: cringe, fox.town is protected by the Identity Digital DPML Brand Protection policy because of fox news or something, ugh.
Wait what, we call out rampaging admins which are in no case benefitial for users or the fediverse in whole and get called names for that? Cool. That's a first, being called a bigot and abusive, are you out of your mind slinging these words around like they mean nothing?
@expert@Jerry@cjrando@gleb Make sure the art admin doesn't find out about your instance, "Only light moderation will be applied" is the same sentence as "not moderating fash edgelords" for them which results in a suspension. Careful there 😳.
@martijn grats on being lucky there, my front glass protection just got loose and I removed it. I'm confident the next time I drop my phone it will land display first on a sharp stone.
Thanks for the donations lately, got 30€ via xmr and ko-fi each, 50€ via patreon and 40€ via liberapay. That's 150/500€, together with 150€ from a browsergame I host and help develop at times it's 300/500€. I am very grateful for any support! As I wrote on the about page, as soon as 500€/m is reached, excess will be donated to netzpolitik and digitalcourage equally as I don't intend to make profit.
I saw someone mention a mastodon.art post and I just went through their about page for fun. Their blocklists reads like a almost complete instance list by now. Also by their own ruleset they should have blocked mastodon.social and mastodon.online by now because they do federated with a couple of hundred instances they have blocked. But they know that would cause a mass migration away from #mastodonart . I don't know why people still register there with -80% reach compared to sane instances.
