Installed #Ubuntu 12.04 on this ThinkPad a while back, then upgraded it to 14.04. I wonder if it can go all the way through 16.04, 18.04, 20.04, 22.04 and successfully end up on 24.04...
@gamingonlinux You need to write some click-bait, my man.
You can have these for free..
Number 11 is the best!
@RTheren I think they ran out of money (and were being sued by patent trolls), but the code is open. I don't know if progress has been made.
@clacke @AngryAnt @buonhobo If people aren't aware of Guix by now, that seems like a Guix problem :)
@buonhobo
As I understand it some people in the #nixos community disagree with the way the project is run. So as is common in open source, someone has started a fork. 🤷
Golly, it's coming up on six years since "What are beans?"
A very short thread. 🧵
This is a complex problem and a question that may have no helpful answer.
I'm putting it out there to see if people have ideas. 🤔
Note: I am deliberately *not* identifying anyone specific in this thread. I'd appreciate it if everyone else did the same.
This thread aims to find solutions, not point fingers or speak negatively of individuals or groups.
[Blog] Hey! Remember a month ago I mentioned there was a scam BitCoin wallet in the Snap Store. There's another one. This time I took it apart to see how it works.
Edit: It's worse - they published ten scam apps under different wallet brand names. :(
Another one
One. Day. Later. They're back!
Come on Canonical.
These are trivially easy to spot and identify as scam apps.
And more...
And another
@Gargron So, zero memes?
@killyourfm @cassidy exactly. It’s pretty amazing how much you can pull in as “donations” from gamers. They have money, there’s a shitload of them, and they’re willing to spend on what they want.
@cassidy I feel the fact they had a $30K/mo patreon didn't help their case at all. That's wildly different to some random open source emulator you may find online, that reads already-decrypted rom files, surely?
@taedryn As a Brit, I have never understood the "Sir" thing Americans do. It's a super weird, almost passive-aggressive way to address people.
