@thomasfuchs personally I don’t believe that AI has any form of consciousness. But I do find it interesting that philosophy has a whole section of arguments about whether you can even know if other people are conscious — from a philosophical perspective, AI consciousness must raise interesting questions!

@europlus @thomasfuchs I wish I understood quite what Zuck thought the metaverse was meant to be.
When I worked there, we kept being told that Horizon Worlds wasn't "the metaverse", it was just an example piece of software that used metaverse concepts. But I never quite worked out how "the metaverse" was different to "multiplayer VR". It didn't seem to be about persistent identities, or a single shared environment…
I do think Zuck had _something_ in mind, but I never quite understood!
