Nowadays I see more of trap Shima or real dudes wearing outfit than actual Shimakaze and that makes me upset. The character with the most perfect ass in all of fiction shouldn't get disrepected like this.

    Someone pointed out to me that men are more attracted to the female figure while women are more attracted to the act of sex itself. That's why monster girls and such are more common than monster boys, and why tentacles, regular male animals, goblins, orcs, etc. are so common in hentai for female viewers. They don't care about the characterization of the male, they just care about the male rutting the female lead.

    This is in contrast to hentai and doujins for male viewers where the female monster/breast have characterization and talk in full sentences. Men want personality and human like interaction, women want animalistic fucking. I think it also applies to futa as well. Futa porn made for a male audience is usually focused around characterization while futa porn for a female audience (which is most of western futa) doesn’t really explore the characters all that much and instead get straight to the fucking.

    @rlier23 @blueknightfrank In this case, women love Twilight because it’s two very hot monster guys chasing after and fighting over one girl, but if it was written from a guys perspective then the idea of two hot monster girls fighting over one guy’s affection sounds more appealing. In fact the guy would probably think of ways for the two girls and their families to resolve their differences so he can have both.

    Also, I brought up Twilight here some time ago talking about how if the genders of the main 3 were switched then guys would suddenly get it. But if Twilight was written by a guy then no doubt the characterization of the werewolf and vampire girls would be more deep.

    A very good example of this cultural shift is Hatsune Miku. Back then she was very thin, practically a twig, but over the years she’s gotten thiccer and thiccer, and now she has thicc squishy thighs, and noticeably big boobs.

    Yeah. Back in the early 2000s thin girls were kinda leading the pack in media, but 2010s and onwards there was a shift. Thiccness was leading the pack now and everyone hopped on it, making every character thicc in some way. And for some characters making them thiccer kinda feels like they lose part of their charm. So seeing thin girls seems more interesting and erotic now.

    @lina Oh yeah almost forgot. The show’s creator, Lauren Faust knew perfectly well that there would be a good amount of males watching the show, but she likely didn’t expect how huge it would get. She’s been in the industry for a long time so she knew boys would watch a girly show if it had good characterization, adventure, and action.

    @lina The early season of the show we’re just good fun adventures with pastel talking ponies. They have stand out characterizations with the main characters, but to some people they didn’t like the characterization in the last seasons.

    For me it likely would’ve taken me longer to be a lolicon if it wasn’t for MLP.
