I finished watching all 3 seasons of #StarTrek #Picard. What a shit show. Anyone who says "it gets better" is lying. Trek in name only. Watching the show was an exercise in masochism. My wife laughed at all my deep sighs and shaking my head with disappointment.

How do #peertube costs work? What if Taylor Swift signs up to a peertube instance, drops her hot new video there, and it gets 200 MILLION views. What happens? How much it that going to cost in #cdn #bandwidth? *WHO* is it going to cost? Is this viable? Does an instance admin shut that account or post down to avoid getting bankrupted?

For now, let's ignore the idea that taylor should set up her own instance. This is a contrived example.

I watched this video from @rebeccawatson about #blake_lively and #misogyny on #socialmedia and couldn't help but be disheartened about life in general.

Culture used to be gatekept by a handful of newspapers and network channels. Then it was gatekept by a few hundred cable channels. Now is it outright manufactured by millions of social media accounts -- controlled by a handful of largely unseen rich power brokers.

Any #ethics law that affects #SCOTUS has a bootstrapping problem. #Congress could pass any law managing or constraining SCOTUS, however reasonable, then the Federalist Society or whoever would immediately sue. The suit gets to SCOTUS and they strike the law down as unconstitutional, and we are back to an unaccountable SCOTUS. How do you address this problem? #aoc #msnbc #uspol #progressive #politics
