@fu Your dad is a wise man. Gandhi is certainly a very important politicocultural figure for us, not denying that but no one person unless that person is an avatar can be considered flag bearer of Hinduism in conventional terms. That's what I meant. I don't think religion encourages people to become violent but some people's interpretation and inability to tolerate difference in opinion is what leads to violence. At the root of it, it's just human nature and it's workings imho.
"I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent.
When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always."
@Fu First of all, his name is Gandhi. Secondly, a lot of Christian missionaries carried out forceful conversions in India, violence both physical and sexual is documented, does that mean Christianity isn't a peaceful religion. If people choose to be violent, religion is just an excuse to carry out their violent fantasies. There's a lot of good one can learn from every religion if they choose to. Also Gandhi isn't the flag bearer of Hinduism. Pl read Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads.
@aral Yes I was also pleasantly surprised to find one. Oddly enough, I've never used it before and now I'll make good use of 🥭 What a worthy cause to be blamed for. I accept it gladly. I'll send you some once the season comes. (Shipping not included with the present🤭)
@aral No I meant the mangoes are ripe because it's still a month to go before they become ready. 🤭 That's about it really. Also we are territorial about our mangoes. Indian 🥭 >>> everywhere else's but yes a 🥭 tree is a delightful sight.
@aral Then it's like Delhi winters. No snow, only bone chilling cold throughout the winters with sparse 🌞 Enjoy your sunny weather. Who's to say it's not my doing? Maybe I'm a wish granting genie except I do it before you ask for it. 🤭
