@puppygirlhornypost2@otter If they did it like that, they'd have to actually compensate people for their labor. There's no "volunteering" from employees when it comes to biometrics (per GDPR & related), and labor laws don't love "volunteer" work that's really just unpaid work.
@puppygirlhornypost2@otter They're cheap a**es who refused to spend a few dollars on proper data sets and data collection to build and tune the models for Face ID. They force their employees to dogfood all of their products and experiments instead.
@otter Gobbler is the "Face Gobbler" app that Apple put on some unlucky employees phones that takes pics/videos/biometrics 24/7 whenever it 'thinks it sees a face' without warning or consent. Apple said it fired me for complaining about it. https://ashleygjovik.substack.com/p/the-schrodinger-of-data-protection
This morning I filed motions in the federal civil lawsuit requesting to 1) disqualify Apple's current law firm, & 2) replead several claims to add revenge porn & sextortion, including RICO where I'm also accusing Apple of violating the Hobbs Act. #BadApple
Part of my motion to disqualify is based on those OSHA FOIA documents, which revealed a damning timeline with extreme cyberharassment against me tied to the firm's legal deadlines related to my case. I said I need to do discovery on them so they can't also be defense counsel.
Apple claimed only 2 docs as evidence to support firing me but refused to give me copies. After I filed this FOIA request to US Dept of Labor asking for my case file, OSHA's response revealed 1 of those 2 docs is an email to Apple legal with Gobbler photos of my naked breasts. https://mastodon.social/@ashleygjovik/113693146014087195
Apple redacted the photo of my naked breasts prior to sending the naked photos of me to OSHA, with Apple claiming my tits are "Apple Confidential."
Do you guys remember that time when Apple whistleblowers exposed Apple was secretly recording, storing, & listening to your conversations near any Siri-enabled device? & it was literally people's job to listen to Apple's illegal recordings of you? $95M. https://edition.cnn.com/2025/01/02/business/apple-siri-privacy-lawsuit/index.html
Let 2025 be the year of the cockroach. These huge tech corporations brag about trying to "squash us like bugs," but some of us are cockroaches & are not going anywhere. Instead, we'll sneak attack them & make them shriek when they see we're still alive & fighting. Be a cockroach.
On Dec. 18 2024, #NLRB finally sued #Apple for Apple illegally threatening, suspending, & firing me in 2021. #BadApple
The hearing is scheduled in 2025. NLRB is asking for, among other things: Apple to apologize to me & rehire me, & Apple to give everyone at Apple (managers & workers) labor rights training.
Tons of articles today about an employee suing Apple over illegal NDAs & "panopticon" surveillance. Its not my lawsuit & none of these articles even mention my name
Makes me very excited that NLRB may soon finally file their complaint against Apple about Apple firing me in 2021
Apple usually only lets an unfavorable article like this blow up if they can blow it up in a direction that helps them somehow. This one's prob a trick that prevents reporters from writing about a topic twice
Netflix released a new documentary called "Buy Now!" and it is very very good.
I don't know how it got funded, because it actually tells the truth about a lot of controversial topics, such as: illegal dumping of hazardous waste, greenwashing fraud schemes, planned obsolescence, tech worker's personal responsibility to not help their employer cause harm in the world, & the importance of pushing through the pain of neoliberal cognitive dissonance.
Ok I don't like being wrong, but I absolutely love this kind of correction. I was wrong. It wasn't Apple's lawyers who called me. It was the personal phone of a literal Apple Global Security Crisis Manager. That's sloppy bro.
Was this for Tim Apple cause I've been tweeting at him about him firing me?
Right after Apple somehow Jedi-mindtricked the Judge to dismiss tons of my key claims, and for admittedly no good reason - I got a random phone call that I'm 99% sure was Apple's lawyers - pretending to be an Apple worker & trying to get me to say I regret suing Apple. That showed me they're desperate.
@mcv That's not how any of that works, & I find it very strange that you are so emotionally invested in this exchange. I don't know why you feel it necessary to try to influence the voting choices of someone in a completely different country than you - but I think you may want to consider more productive hobbies.
This is my true-crime-podcast of an account dedicated to my whistleblower legal battle with my ex-employer, Apple ComputerAsk me about Apple's neglected offices on dangerous toxic waste dumps; Apple's secret silicon fab exhausting metric tons of solvents & lethal gases in the middle of dense residential neighborhoods; & how Apple fired me after I learned about it & complained to the US gov.Moved from: @ashleygjovik
