Every device just works.

There are rare hiccups on the more bizzaro devices, but that's probably because some dummy (me) decided to put an Nvidia GT210 in the PCIe x1 slot as my display GPU and keep the RTX3060 in the x16 slot free to be passed into VMs or do GPU acceleration on the host as needed. (As any normal user would do.) #tech

@dalias @w7voa FWIW, I prefer to see the direct facts of what a powerful person has said, especially on a topic of such global importance. This way the individual cannot plausibly deny the evidence of guilty admission found in their words at a later date.

#ScienceDirect and #Elsevier clearly didn't review this #chemistry paper about #batteries. The intro starts with "Certainly, here is a possible introduction for your topic:".

This lack of oversight erodes #trust in #science. The paper needs to be retracted and the authors sanctioned immediately.

#GenerativeAI may have its uses in #academic #writing, but this is uncited #plagiarism and #dishonest claim of original work. The #AI and #LLM don't have an #author credit.

@inthehands That's a fair assessment and a thoughtful look at the language.

From my academic background in computer science, artificial intelligence traditionally relied on a more stringent definition than is being used in marketing materials being generated these days. I think most of my hostility to the term as popularly used today is that it is employed to sell "ooo shiny" junk to consumers, when that junk is not actually any better than the previous generation of junk.

On top of that, the AI distinction has become almost meaningless to the point where AI often just means "uses computer."

Sorry, basic image processing is not AI. Spell check is not AI. Bang-bang thermostat controls are not AI.
