It's PRIDE season again! Atleast here in Australia. I'm so excited to see heaps of companies changing their corporate logos to rainbow. Yes, the same logos that are often associated with exploitation, representing values that outsource labor to developing countries for profit maximisation. Yet, during this season, we are expected to overlook these practices, no? Cause we are seduced by the colourful facades of their so-called diversity and inclusion that mask the underlying economic disparities and labour exploitation inherent in their business models. They have capitalised on progressive values, turning them into marketable commodities, while systematically undermining the very principles they claim to support. Insidious.

Get Corporations out of Pride. Im marching with this banner on Sunday as well

It's been 20 days since I started my journey to use GrapheneOS. And Im thriving! I've removed Google Play services from my phone and set up my PC to automatically redirect away from all Google products. I've also left mainstream social media years ago and have now shifted my social media presence to Fediverse.

In case you're keen to do the same, here's a list of the alternatives I'm using now (this is list is not exhaustive):

    Google Docs/Sheets: Cryptpad.fr (https://cryptpad.fr/)
Social Media: Mastodon (come and join us at https://infosec.exchange)
    Email: ProtonMail (with personal domain)
    Authenticator: Aegis (https://getaegis.app/)
    Photo Management: Immich (https://github.com/immich-app/immich)
    Google Translate: Libre Translate (https://libretranslate.com/)
    Youtube: PeerTube (https://joinpeertube.org/)
Search Engine: SeaRx (on the way to be selfhosted and DuckDuckGo)
    Web Browser: Waterfox (https://www.waterfox.net/)
Phone: grapheneOS (from a refurbished Pixel 6)
    Google Maps: OpenStreet Map (https://www.openstreetmap.org)
Calendar, Online storage: ProtonDrive, Proton Calendar
App stores: Droidify (F-droid) and Aurora store for the occasional non F-Droid apps (like the ProtonMail client)
Messaging: Matrix (https://matrix.org) Session (https://getsession.org/) and Signal
    Notes: Joplin (https://joplinapp.org/)

My head writer wants me to tone down my book on 'Peoples History of AI'. So instead of a full blown Marxist rant, they want me to advocate for regulated capitalism? What the fuck is this shit. I'm quitting.

One thing Ive seen here over and over again is the conflation of socialism with public funding. These two are NOT the same. A welfare state is NOT socialist. Socialism is about the collective ownership and democratic control of the means of production, such as factories, offices, and resources. It aims at managing these assets in the interest of all members of society, not just those who own them, regardless if its the state or who ever.

Public Funding/ Welfare State was invented by German Chancellor Bismarck to tame the people to reduce the attractiveness of socialist and revolutionary ideas. Same thoughts I have at how many so called 'leftists' in USA would abandon the cause if their government gives them healthcare.

    Public Funding Is NOT socialism.

Read your theories, lefties. Don't just blabber. Read books, or listen to audio books, converse with other lefties and not mainstream press.

The fact that the value of Twitter/X has dropped 71% since Musk bought the platform, yet there has been no major investor backlash, is enough reason to believe that $$$ returns were not the primary motive behind the acquisition. The old Twitter was not perfect, but it was especially useful for grassroots activism. I know so because I was one of those people who used it for our grassroot activism back home. In my research, I've found that Twitter served as a 'liberating' tool for people living in countries where freedom and self-expression are restricted. It acted as a counterpublic that allowed people to voice concerns they would otherwise have been unable to express publicly. If you look at who's behind the acquisition of Twitter beyond Musk and who funded it, it actually makes a lot of sense. Just shows you that it was never about money but rather influence and control. It's all about the control over what is essentially a "public square". Just the good old capitalist imperative to dominate not just economic markets but the ideological sphere as well. After all, fascism is capitalism's dear brother.

I only accept follow requests from accounts with names or photos of themselves. If you want to connect despite anon, message me and we will do a Captcha 😂😂😂. I am trying to make the world a little better than when I arrived. Recently finished a PhD in Cybersecurity. I work in InfoSec by day. Beyond the byte and code, my life is a canvas of vibrant hobbies: from the delicate strokes of watercolor paintings to the adrenaline of PC gaming, and the reflective paths of cycling. A connoisseur of horror films and an eloquent critic of hypercapitalism, I find solace in the pages of a good book and the company of my dog, Heidi, whose antics fuel my repertoire of dad jokes.
