@sun@shitposter.world @Hyperhidrosis@shitposter.world i also dont disagree that usury is a big part of the problem since at minimum it allows companies and financial institutions to obfuscate costs so people don't realize how screwed they are. the avg person is also not financially literate and will make tons of bad decisions which on an individual scale, lol sucks to be them, but in aggregate has lead to this ruined economy that is fucking us all

@sun@shitposter.world @Hyperhidrosis@shitposter.world yeah it probably should. idk what the actual solution is but the root of the problem is probably that our economy is so completely fucked that necessities are insanely expensive relative to avg income while luxuries are incredibly cheap.

It used to be relatively easy to buy a house, but hard to fill it with stupid crap and eat out every night. Now it's the opposite.

It seems to me like there are 3 options

1. more expensive burgers and living wage
2. taxes effectively subsidizing businesses by paying welfare to make up for more wages
3. mass vagrancy because people cannot afford to have a roof over their head

we currently have a middleground between 2 & 3. I'd rather just have more expensive junk food tbh
