@astraleureka Why do all CVEs these days feel like this one?

I'm expecting something novel or unique but it turns out you can trick this software to run arbitrary code as root because it *checks notes* just runs arbitrary code as root.

I say this not to diminish your investigation (it's cool!), but to rag on Microsoft.

The hate against Mozilla currently wafting through fedi is perhaps the best example I've seen of toxic open source/free software religious fervor on mastodon

There's not a shred of compassion/empathy for what Mozilla is trying to do! At all!

Even if you think they're doing the wrong thing, why do you think being mean to them is going to get them to do the right thing?

I don't agree with their recent decisions either! I'm not awful about it!

@ryanhoulihan 😆 I've started doing this and it's very fun. Spilled some water: "Oh no!! I need to save christmas!!". Wiped up the puddle: "Ahh, christmas is saved!!".

It feels like I'm in my own hallmark movie, which is extra fun because my partner and I watch a hallmark christmas movie every year to enjoy silly things like this!!
