Capitalism is imploding in slow motion.
So you can't work from home anymore.
"Once again, the elite have gotten themselves into big trouble. They want the rest of us to bail them out. If they don't want our tax money, they want us to give up our freedom and autonomy. They want us to sacrifice ourselves on the altar of capitalism to protect their fortunes."
The Elite's War on Remote Work Has Nothing to Do with Productivity by @jessicawildfire https://www.the-sentinel-intelligence.com/p/heres-why-they-want-you-back-at-the-office-so-bad
#CovidIsNotOver related.
Dehumanisation of The Other is a tool of control.
Break free.
Caring about other people is an act of liberation.
Even beyond the horrific war crimes by themselves, we are so not ready for the consequences of a world where acts like remotely exploding devices, bombing healthcare facilities, impersonating doctors, murdering humanitarian aid workers, targeting journalists, or weaponising water and food supplies are normalised.
There is a reason these things are not acceptable, even in war.
Israel is setting a terrifying precedent.

If hundreds of explosions went off simultaneously killing tens and wounding thousands in New York, London, Berlin or Paris, media would rightfully be denouncing it as a terrorist attack.
Similarly, a car bomb 'targeted' at a military leader is called terrorism because it hurts innocent civilians who happen to be nearby.
Israel is a terrorist state.
The same media outlets that one day say:
"Climate change is a serious issue and action is necessary" and "Cost of living is rising, working families need alternatives to help their budgets",
Will be the same ones clutching their pearls and writing about "Elite cyclists coming to take your carparks" every time a community may get 100 metres for kids to to ride to school without being run over by a maniac in a 2 ton ute.
So tired of our media farming outrage clicks by stoking a pointless culture war against bicycles, that in the end hurts everyone.
Cyclists are worse off, children are worse off, the environment is worse off, public finances are worse off, and even motorists are worse off.
The only ones who benefit from the anti bike rhetoric are car companies and the fossil fuel industry.
(*looks at the ads*.... ohhhh that's right)
Often the same columnists who frequently criticise younger generations for being "sensitive snowflakes" and complain about how people these days need to 'harden up' and be tough, will be the ones writing about how it's impossible to ride a bicycle anyway because sometimes it might rain, or perhaps there'll be a hill on the way.
Or you know, maybe once a decade you'll buy a new refrigerator. Touche, can't ever ride a bike because of that one trip you might do with a piano or a bed.
They'll title their piece something like "Council just spent 1 bajillion dollars on a bike rack" and when you actually read the article they're talking about a project that demolished and rebuilt an entire street, upgraded pipes, power, traffic, got new signage, added all kinds of upgrades and yes, included a bike rack (that by itself cost maybe a couple of thousand dollars).
😩
They pretend to not see the irony of saying that riding a bike is elitist.
The bike you can get cheap and ride free forever, with maintenance you can do or get done for little, that doesn't require license or insurance, and that anyone any age can use.
But it's not elitist to require everyone to own a much more expensive car, with yearly insurance and maintenance costs, that you pay heaps to run and that may kill you and those around you if you ever make a mistake.
Love it when people who *still* vote for the Trickle down neoliberal scam call me a "naive idealist".
Sure, hun.
It's been 40+ years but status quo is going to get better any day now.
One more tax cut for the rich should do it.
There is no alternative, huh?
/sarcasm
Once again in case it's not clear yet:
The policing of gender and how it is performed in society has nothing to do with "protecting women" and has everything to do with upholding white supremacy and its narrow definitions of what are acceptable ways of being.
Not by coincidence cis women of colour are the ones who are misgendered, discriminated and publicly humiliated when they over achieve and dare to deviate from what the patriarchal white norm expects from "the weaker sex".
The RNC giving Idiocracy vibes.
"Political violence is unacceptable"
they repeat as they send another shipment of bombs to drop on desperately hungry refugees with nowhere to go,
as they close the borders for asylum seekers looking for a chance to work and live in peace,
as they set snipers on students protesting for justice,
as their soldiers the world over intimidate and abuse locals with impunity,
as they conspire to depose another regime refusing to let them plunder unimpeded.
Only their violence is OK.

Current President: This SCOTUS decision means there are virtually no limits to what a president can do.
Hypothetical Journo: So what are you going to do about it?
Current President: There is nothing I can do.
HJ: But.. didn't you just say...?
The derogative term 'Banana Republic' comes from an earlier stage of imperialist capitalism, when corporations from the imperial core (namely fruit exporters) used their money, power, and influence to corrupt local governments so that their interests would be prioritised over those of the local population.
It is fair to say the term is now obsolete because under corporate neoliberal capitalism, every nation is a Banana Republic.
A Banana World Order, if you will. 🍌🌏

"The oppressor makes his violence part of the functioning society. But the violence of the oppressed becomes disruptive... because it is disruptive it's easy to recognize, and therefore it becomes the target of all those who in fact do not want to change the society" - Kwame Ture
