@bagder ...brute force cURL? isn't it explicitly a user-side tool?

@cwebber @spritely I found myself thinking "hmm, Bluesky technically didn't remove that persons content but they said virtually shadowban them for 99.99% of people using their network as It's virtually completely centralized, and ActivityPub handles the decentralized part better but it is still brittle, we need to bypass the server model entirely."
...and now it clicked as to why you're investing in Spritely.

@Flaky A gov't employee inside Housing and Urban Development made a AI generated protest video with Trump sucking Elon Musk's toes, and Bluesky removed the post from the journalist who reposted it because of it being "non-consensual sexual content."
For normal people this would probably be justified, but in the context of criticizing power/the government this arguably is impeding free speech/First Amendment lines, especially sensitive considering Big Tech Social is all but integrating into the state as an oligarchy and people are trying to rise against a fascist dictatorship.

" > Your use of Firefox must follow Mozilla's Acceptable Use Policy,
In said policy,
You may not use any of Mozilla's services to:
- Upload, download, transmit, display, or grant access to content that includes graphic depictions of sexuality"

@Gargron please, please, please work with your peers in the Fediverse software space to prioritize nomadic identity migration and instance/domain migration
Being able to move to a new instance while retaining the post history is going to be crucial in the coming times.

@ashten I'm completely confounded by companies whitelisting the steam deck on Linux, and *only* the steam deck
It's just immutable Linux ! It has the same attack surface as regular arch !!!! Linux cheaters are a fraction of a fraction of a fraction come onnnn

Not gonna lie, y'all reacting to people criticizing #MastodonforHarris by shitting on people in need is a bigger turnoff to this whole network than the people 'defacing' the campaign.
Is it unpleasant to look at suffering? Uncomfortable? Inconvenient? Yes.
Newsflash: it's 100x more uncomfortable and unpleasant for the people in situations that necessitate mutual aid. It's debasing, it's humiliating, it's desperate. They're desperately trying to attract attention to their vulnerable situation because if they do not do so they will suffer at best, and literally die at worst. It's not a trivial thing to put your life out there in full view because you need the help of strangers, especially not in a society that morally condemns being in poverty. -

Harris has received a vote of confidence from virtually every Democratic governor, high ranking DNC member, politically active liberal, Biden bro, and most importantly, Democratic donor. Her campaign has raised over 200 million dollars - that's 2 and 8 zeroes - in the past week alone. And that's not including Biden's former campaign funds or future donors either. She will be fine. The people you scoff at in the tags won't.
If you are not in any economic class higher than the 5% (maybe not even that) your money would go further to help people by giving to the ones next to you.
If you want to fight to make sure Harris wins, you can give your time, your advocacy, your connections to encourage people to vote for her. You can help people get to voting places, you can emphasize the danger that P2025/A47 poses, you can encourage people to trust in someone who isn't decomposing in real time.
Building up your community, however, is the strongest option.

Casting a wide allegation that they're just scamming or dismissing their suffering as "trauma porn" or engaging in completely unrelated bigotry to dismiss them is just cruel. Do you see homeless people like th— actually scratch that, spare me your opinions on the unhoused.
I unfortunately expect some of this behavior from liberals, but from people who see themselves as socialists? Really? All this for a liberal (progressive, yes, but still liberal) Democrat? Really??
Even in the best timeline, Kamala Harris and her administration would not be enough to undo the poverty and desolation we see today; the US alone has a debt of suffering inflicted that would take decades, perhaps centuries to repay. And we're not in the best timeline.
Let's be frank: even under liberal admins, we will not see the care and aid that is needed right now to help the people next to us, from them. No one's coming besides us.
