@CloudyMrs Neither did I until I read this article! But it makes so much sense (medically, in terms of helping the patients, and from the perspective of long-term costs to the NHS), given what will happen to people if they can't access the right kind of food. @MadeyeTheCarnaptious @Snoweider

@MadeyeTheCarnaptious @CloudyMrs @Snoweider Here's another benefit of not living in England: "Coeliac patients in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are less at risk of long-term health complications because they can access free gluten-free bread, pasta and flour." I assume there's still some risk, as people might eat some other foods they don't get for free, so the article's not necessarily wrong to describe this as a UK issue.
