@inthehands welcome to the ebike world! You may also want to check out the tags #BikeTooter & #BikeNite. I ride a Tern NBD & my spouse rides a Tern Quick Haul, and they’ve helped us move from being a 1-car family to a mostly-not-driving family. The Tern upright posture takes a while used to, but once you used to it, it’s so comfortable!
Popped out for a quick ride in between rain and incoming thunderstorms to pick up some lunch downtown. I’ve probably said this before, but in the 18 months I’ve been biking, I’ve been to downtown Nashville more times than in the 18 years before that combined. It’s a little too far for a casual walk and a nightmare in a car. Perfect use case for a bike. Few biz with bike parking though. Thanks @timcoffman for some action pix! Day 11 of #30DaysOfBiking#BikeTooter
We played a bunch of card & board games in January, between vacation + weather. Finished Artisans of Splendent Vale. Made an effort to play more Everdell and worked our way thru unplayed expansions on our shelves. The only new game this month was Pies, a casual trick taking game, which we enjoyed. #BoardGames#BGStats
@artemesia@forteller my bike came with a pre-installed cafe lock. I only rely on it solo for brief errands when I’m nearby - it’s enough to deter a casual theft but not much more.
Started our annual read of The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper. We always read the first chapter out loud - it’s so intense and sets the stage for the following days. There’s a good BBC adaptation from last year as well: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/brand/w13xtvp7#TheDarkIsReading#Bookstodon
This article on e-bikes really resonated with me, including the experience of going from “biking isn’t for me” to my bike becoming part of my daily life. #BikeTooter
Frustrating day dealing with a tech issue that required phone convos with IT, ugh. Bike ride to clear my head at the end of the day though! Awesome new mural taking shape in Frankie Pierce Park! #BikeTooter
