    I wonder if Musk even realizes how much he's further destroying his site's userbase here.

    From my understanding, Twitter has been one of the more preferable sites for sex workers, cam models and other online sexual content creators, due to a laxer policy on nudity in media. It also happens that such creators (among others, of course!) will often link to simple link-aggregator homepages like Linktree in their bios. This update makes that a bannable offense.

    Musk is such a small-minded, insecure man, and it's clear that no matter how many dollars he burns, they won't stave off loneliness's chill.

    The less time I spend on the birdsite, the quicker I'm noticing when I've gotten sucked into doomscrolling.     @marek I can see the value of this and generally like it. However, given that Friendica lends itself to larger posts than Mastodon, including posts that might use multiple images interspersed within the body of the text, I am wary of any solution that compiles all the images in a post and displays them as "attachments" at the end.

    There are times when I want to use images in the middle of a post, and they'd become much less meaningful in a compiled cluster at the end of the post, even if they were in a much prettier grid.

    Welp, I'm doin' it. I've set Semiphemeral to start deleting my old tweets, in preparation for locking down my Twitter account and walking away from the site permanently (for personal stuff).

    When 2022 started, I didn't expect in the slightest that I'd be fully disconnecting from Twitter like this before the year was out. How things change.

    @junebug In that timeline, I'm definitely an alt-right shitlord. Maybe trying to work in marketing or web design; I dunno what guys like that do for work. I'm bitter and lonely and believe empathy is a weakness and everything can be solved logically (yet can't seem to logic myself into a satisfying life).

    It wouldn't have taken much of a push, which always scares me. I dabbled in 4chan in high school, was a Dawkins-esque antitheist, and entered college self-describing as "more of an egalitarian than a feminist". I was also pretty darn socially anxious due to some pernicious beliefs about my own lack of worth. I could have gone down that path pretty easily.
